As I've mention before, my husband and I are beer nerds.
We like to find new beer, taste, analyze, nickname, judge, critique, rate, oh and buy. We were excited about moving to California because of the well known beer culture and we have not been disappointed.
So far we have been to three breweries.
1. Beach City Brewery is a new brewery right in Huntington Beach. We rode our bikes over to their tasting room and tried a little bit of everything. They have created an open, chill space with plenty of picnic tables and T.V.s to watch a game on a weekend or meet up with friends for happy hour. We really enjoyed it and are looking forward to going back to try some of the new seasonal taps.
2. Four Sons Brewing is also located right in Huntington Beach. They are family owned and operated and their passion for what they do really shows. Their tasting room is cozy and has a great view of their whole operation. We had a great night trying some of their flagship beers and watching a baseball game. They have a huge selection of board games and corn hole in the parking lot. This summer they had a seasonal Peach IPA which was my favorite and I can't wait to get back and see what they have for winter.
3. Beachwood Brewing is a brewery known for their beer and their barbecue. We went to the Long Beach location and while Blake sampled a few of their beers I was preoccupied with the homemade sauces. This location has a great patio and a wide selection of taps from many breweries all over the country. As for the barbecue, the chicken is delicious, especially with the spicy sauce and I definitely recommend the baked beans.
It's no Bloody Chainsaw Brewery.
