Where we went: Apples, Apples, Apples

This fall Blake and I made a list of fun things to do and of course one of them was apple picking. It is so easy to take day trips in southern California and I was excited to explore a little area known for apple picking, fresh cider and our course apple cider donuts.

About an hour from Huntington Beach is a little town called Oak Glen. It's a cute little touristy town with lots of shops and fun things to see.

Our first stop was Snowline Orchard for donuts of course. They make them about as fast as you can buy them and they are definitely worth the wait. You can also sample their cider, apples and ice cream.

After donuts we drove to Riley's Farm. Riley's has several orchards and fields with everything from apples and pumpkins to pears, strawberries and flowers. We had so much fun running around trying to find "the best" apples to take home. There's nothing like eating an apple you picked off the tree yourself. We picked mostly Pink Lady apples for eating as snacks and a few Pippin apples for baking.
