Thursday Threads- Holiday staples

So it's one week until Christmas guys! Can you believe it? Are you ready? If you answered no to those questions than you are in good company. If you follow me on Instagram (@carissacrane) you know that we just bought and decorated our tree this week. If my blogging is any indication, I am bad with deadlines, timing, etc.

But I am determined to not let stress get the better of me over the next few days you should stay stress free with me. Just light that holiday candle, put on your favorite holiday Pandora station and drink more coffee!

Currently:
Candle- snowy pine
Music- Charlie Brown Christmas Medley
Coffee- Trader Joe's Costa Rican with Hazelnut lactose free creamer

Every year I buy a few staples to welcome the holiday season and spirit. Usually when people say "wardrobe staples" they mean black pencil skirt, leather jacket, white button down. That is NOT what I mean when I say "holiday staple."

Definition: Holiday Staple(s)- items of clothing or accessories that are worn on or between the day after Thanksgiving and New Years Eve that reflect the holiday you celebrate during that time. Examples: see below

Scarf- I love the excuse to  pick up another plaid scarf and this time of year my excuse is Christmas. This year I bought this one at Target and I love it. It's warm, wide enough to wear as a shall or small blanket and thin enough to tie comfortably around my neck.

Socks- starting the day after Thanksgiving I pull out my Christmas socks and wear them every chance I get. My favorite places to get holiday socks are Target, Gap and Kohl's. These made me laugh and reminded me of all the snow days thanks to the Polar Vortex last year.

Pajama pants- Traditionally my parents would let us open one gift on Christmas eve and in the recent past our gift has been something we could wear. I have continued the tradition in my own way by getting my husband and I new pajama pants to open and wear on Christmas eve.

Slippers- I have the worlds coldest feet, I'm sure you are excited to know, and every year starting in October my feet realize winter is coming and instantly turn into ice cubes until around May. Slippers are a must this time of year and this slipper-sock combination footwear is revolutionizing my world.
