When in Kansas City you must eat barbecue, so we did.
Quite the experience... this is not for the dieting types.
After some great family time we got up early Sunday morning for our dreaded 14 hour drive to Colorado. It was dark and rainy for most of the morning. Then it was flat, so very very flat for what felt like an eternity. Kansas is not my favorite place to drive.
When we finally made it to Colorado we started to see some signs of life. However, eastern Colorado is much like Kansas, flat.
After so many hills, farms and miles and miles of flat grass, it was breathtaking to finally see glimpses of the Rockies. Our route took us up through Pagosa Springs at over 7,000 feet. It was one of the most beautiful parts of our trip.
Thanks for sticking with us through our long and boring day 3. Come back soon for exciting events with family in Durango!
